ENECHANGE and Daisen City, Akita Prefecture, Form Comprehensive Alliance, with EV Charging Ports to be Installed in 17 Public Facilities
ENECHANGE Ltd. announces that it it has signed an agreement with Daisen City, Akita Prefecture, to install ENECHANGE EV Charge charging ports at 17 public facilities in the city. Daisen City was selected as an SDGs Future City. Through EV charging infrastructure development we will now be able to help them achieve a Zero Carbon City.
Background to the cooperation agreement
The government has set a goal of 100% low emission vehicles in new passenger car sales by 2035. Simultaneously, ENECHANGE has set a goal of investing up to 30 billion yen to install 30,000 EV charging ports in Japan by 2027. In particular, the Company is focusing on destination charging, and is actively promoting the installation of 6kW charging ports at commercial facilities, leisure facilities, golf courses, and other places where people stay for two hours or longer.
Daisen City, Akita Prefecture, declared itself a Zero Carbon City in March 2022, and was selected as an SDGs Future City in May of the same year in recognition of its efforts in environmental conservation and industrial promotion, along with other initiatives. The city aims to become “a people- and environment-friendly city where rich nature is preserved and everyone can live safely and securely” as indicated in the environmental section of the SDGs Future City Plan. This includes work to promote the spread of EVs among residents and increase the number of tourists and other visitors by building EV charging infrastructure.

Installation of ENECHANGE EV Charge in public facilities
ENECHANGE EV Charge , the No. 1* 6kW regular charging system, will be installed at 17 public facilities in Daisen City, with installations starting from October.
