ENECHANGE EV Charging Service introduced at Shopping Center in Soka, Saitama

ENECHANGE Ltd. is pleased to announce that it has installed its first two-port Level 2 charger as part of its ENECHANGE EV Charging Service at MATSUBARA TERRACE (Soka City, Saitama Prefecture). This is the first installation in Soka City, Saitama.

Background and Objectives

The ENECHANGE EV Charging Service focuses on destination charging: charging at locations where drivers may spend several hours and want to have a top-up charge, such as golf courses and other leisure facilities, as well as universities and other educational facilities.

MATSUBARA TERRACE is a shopping center that reopened in November 2021, and is proactively implementing measures for the convenience of local residents, including the introduction of handicap-accessible restrooms as well as earthquake-resistant reinforcement. While redevelopment of neighborhoods in the surrounding area has led to an increase in the population and the number of residents traveling by car, many condominiums are not equipped with EV charging facilities. We believe that providing this facility, which has a parking lot available 24 hours a day, with a basic EV charging point will lead to improved convenience for the entire city. We are pleased to announce that the facility has installed our EneChange EV Charging system.

The number of EVs and PHVs per 10,000 people in Saitama Prefecture is 16.2, ranking 33rd in Japan*. We will continue to contribute to the spread of EV charging infrastructure in cooperation with companies working to create local communities and achieve the SDGs.
