ENECHANGE Concludes Sales Partnership with Namiki, Manager of 16,000 Households
ENECHANGE Ltd. has agreed to collaborate with Namiki Co., Ltd. on the expansion of ENECHANGE’s EV charging ports installations in collective housing in the Greater Tokyo metropolitan area. By establishing charging infrastructure in collective housing, we will contribute to the realization of a decarbonized society.
Background
The government has set a goal of making the ratio of zero-emission vehicles in new car sales 100% by 2023. In order to reach this goal, the government has announced new guidelines to increase the target of EV charging port installations to 300,000 by 2030. Especially for charging in multi-family units and similar locations, the goal is to install between 100,000 to 200,000 Level 2 charging ports, with a policy aimed at growing the charging infrastructure so that over 10% of EV users living in multi-family units can charge their vehicles within the residence. In addition, a survey* targeting prospective EV buyers living in condominiums revealed that about 90% of respondents stated it would be difficult to purchase an EV without charging facilities in collective housing. This suggests that the establishment of basic charging infrastructure is urgently needed for the spread of EVs.
Since November 2022, ENECHANGE has been focusing on multi-dwelling units to advance the establishment of EV charging port infrastructure. To gain support from condominium management associations, which is a hurdle for the introduction of EV charging ports, ENECHANGE introduced the Condo Zero Plan. The plan makes installation costs, monthly fees, and electricity charging free by utilizing government subsidies, and has been receiving inquiries from across the nation. Both residents and condominium owners anticipate that the introduction of EV charging ports in this way will lead to the enhancement of the property value of condominiums, as well as the improvement in convenience for residents through low-cost charging rates.

Utilizing Namiki’s network, which manages over 16,000 housing units in metropolitan areas including Tokyo, Saitama, Kanagawa, and Chiba, ENECHANGE and Namiki will promote EV charging ports to the owners of the rental condos managed by Namiki. Residents can use ENECHANGE EV Charge both at home and on the go, with just one app that is the No.1(*) in terms of the number of EV charging app users.
