ENECHANGE EV Charge installed and activated at The Okura Tokyo
ENECHANGE Ltd. announces the activation today of two 6kW Level 2 chargers “ENECHANGE EV Charge” installed at the luxury hotel “The Okura Tokyo” in Minato-ku, Tokyo.
Background
In response to the government’s goal of making electric vehicles account for 100% of new passenger car sales by 2035, ENECHANGE is promoting the installation of ENECHANGE EV Charge charging ports nationwide. Focusing on destination charging that allows replenishing the electricity used for travel, we are actively advancing the installation of 6kW Level 2 charging ports in commercial facilities, leisure facilities, and golf courses where the visit duration is 2 to 3 hours or more. Charging facilities at overnight accommodations are considered especially crucial in the travel plans of EV drivers, and the demand is increasing as a 6kW Level 2 charging port can nearly fully charge a vehicle overnight. Indeed, according to a survey*1 conducted by ENECHANGE among EV users, 39.38% of users who have used Level 2 charging while out have experienced charging at accommodations.
The Okura Tokyo, a luxury hotel located in Toranomon, Minato-ku, Tokyo, consists of two brands: the serene and dignified “Okura Heritage” and the high-quality urban hotel “Okura Prestige.” To accommodate the future spread of EVs, ENECHANGE EV Charge, which is No.1*2 in the number of units installed, has been adopted, and two units have been installed in the parking lot of The Okura Tokyo. The Okura Tokyo incorporates energy-saving measures, local greening, waste recycling, and improvements in urban planning safety from the design stage, contributing to the SDGs as a sustainable building. The introduction of EV charging ports is part of this effort, providing a system that contributes to sustainability naturally through a comfortable stay at the hotel.
