Initiatives towards the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals)
Outline of the SDGs
Our views on the Sustainable Development Goals
The ENECHANGE Group is actively working towards achieving the SDGs as a platform that accelerates the digital transformation (DX) of the 4 Ds of energy in order to create the sustainable energy future we need to have by 2030, the future called for by the SDGs.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the international goals for the period up to 2030, as stated in the "2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development" adopted at the United Nations Summit in September 2015.
RELATION
ENECHANGE Group Initiatives
The ENECHANGE Group is incorporating DX technology in the energy field as an energy platform company in order to change the world so that people around the world can use energy in a way more suited to individual lifestyles and ideas, and to create a sustainable energy future by 2030. To that end, we have set the 4 Ds of energy※ and incorporated them into our business fields from our belief in the importance of promoting an energy revolution. The ENECHANGE Group is actively working to achieve the following six SDGs through our energy services.
The 4 Ds of energy and initiatives towards the SDGs in our businesses
Improving quality of life and corporate value through freely switching energies
Achieving a society that uses energy data to supply energy stably
(Renewable Energy Power Plant Analysis and Operation Management Services)
Achieving a carbon-free society and a society that utilises energy big data
Changing Energy For A Better World
GOALThe goals ENECHANGE has set
An energy future created through the provision of energy platforms ENECHANGE Technology for DEREGULATION
With the full deregulation of the energy retail industry in April 2016, an energy market worth about 20 trillion yen in Japan alone was opened up, and each of us was now able to freely select our electricity and gas utilities. The ENECHANGE Group is creating an environment that will deliver the optimal energy to all people through support that changes our world into one where we can use energy with greater peace of mind. This is being done through services like “enechange”, our electricity/gas charges comparison website for households, Omakase Switch, our power pricing plan proposal service, and Enechange Biz, our switching support site for companies.

Targets
?
The SDGs consist of 17 Goals and 169 Targets. All Goals and Targets can be found here.
|
Sample initiatives | |
7.1 | Proportion of population with access to electricity See Metadata |
We offer a service to choose where to buy your energy reliably and more simply through “enechange”, our electricity/gas charges comparison website. |
13.3 | Strengthen resilience and adaptive capacity to climate-related hazards and natural disasters in all countries |
We provide information on energy through owned media in a fair, balanced, and easy to understand way. |
17.7 | Promote the development, transfer, dissemination and diffusion of environmentally sound technologies to developing countries on favourable terms, including on concessional and preferential terms, as mutually agreed |
We are working on getting to an environment where safer, more reliable energy can be supplied stably while actively debating electrical power system reform with governments, public bodies, and related groups. |
The future of energy created through energy data ENECHANGE Technology for DIGITALIZATION
Smart meters, digital electricity meters, are becoming more popular around the world. There are 2 billion smart meters around the world, creating power data 96 billion times each day. We are working to improve the efficiency of energy businesses and support the stable supply of energy through the provision of services that use energy technology, including SMAP, a SaaS-service that provides analysis and predictions from a range of perspectives for energy companies using this massive amount of energy big data, and EMAP, another SaaS service that supports digital marketing aimed at energy businesses based around the knowledge, information, and technology assets we have gained through the operation of “enechange”, our electricity/gas switching platform.

The SDGs consist of 17 Goals and 169 Targets. All Goals and Targets can be found here.
|
Sample initiatives | |
7.3 | By 2030, double the global rate of improvement in energy efficiency. |
We are working on improving energy efficiency by providing services based on the analysis of power data to retailers. |
9.4 | By 2030, upgrade infrastructure and retrofit industries to make them sustainable, with increased resource-use efficiency and greater adoption of clean and environmentally sound technologies and industrial processes, with all countries taking action in accordance with their respective capabilities |
We are constructing the technology platform that will be necessary to make renewable energy our main source of power by actively engaging in new technologies such as demand-response that utilise smart meter data. |
Initiatives for decentralization and decarbonization ENECHANGE Technology for DECARBONIZATION & DECENTRALIZATION
The future of energy a century from now—that is the future we will achieve beautifully through the 4 Ds of energy. We at the ENECHANGE Group believe business investment and technology support are key initiatives to achieve this future on a global scale. With the Japan Energy Fund, an energy fund specialised in overseas decarbonization, we aim to achieve a carbon-free society by increasing the value of renewable energy power plants currently operating in emerging nations in particular through improvements to profitability by utilising our company’s power data analysis technology.
