Demand Response Service to be provided to PinT, a member of the Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) Group as part of winter power saving program from November
ENECHANGE Ltd. is pleased to announce the provision of its ENECHANGE Cloud DR (demand response) service for households to PinT Inc. The program will launch on November 1, 2022 as “Winter Power Saving Point Campaign,” and is a dedicated power saving program for PinT subscribers.
Background
Following a turbulent energy market summer, there are concerns about power shortages this winter as well. The government has begun to encourage electricity suppliers to introduce peak shaving programs that utilize Demand Response as a countermeasure to the tight electricity market. In the peak shaving program, users save electricity in response to requests from suppliers. The equivalent of 2,000 yen per low-voltage (household) location is awarded in proportion to the amount of electricity saved.
About our efforts with PinT
PinT has adopted ENECHANGE Cloud DR for its Winter Power Saving Point Campaign, which is set to be launched from November 1st. In this program, PinT and electricity users will cooperate to save electricity by using ENECHANGE Cloud DR. Users who have announced their participation in the program will be awarded points based on the amount of electricity they save in response to requests from the PinT. In addition, points worth 2,000 yen will be awarded by the government.

About ENECHANGE Cloud DR Demand Response Service for Households
In accordance with the reorganization of the ENECHANGE Group on October 1, 2022, the name of our DR service was renamed from SMAP DR to ENECHANGE Cloud DR.
ENECHANGE Cloud DR is an all-in-one service that provides the functions necessary for energy suppliers to implement DR for households. Notifications are sent to users encouraging them to negative DR (energy consumption reduction) and positive DR (energy consumption increase), which is expected to encourage consumers to shift their peak demand, improve the customer experience, and strengthen engagement. Users can earn incentives in the form of points or other rewards based on the amount of electricity saved, and power companies can expect to curb procurement costs and improve efficiency by implementing DR. The ENECHANGE Cloud DR service offers two approaches to DR: the “behavior change” type, in which consumers devise their own ways of using electricity, and the “smart device” type, in which equipment is automatically controlled via smart remote controllers and smart plugs.
