Collaboration with Akita-based IT company to install EV charging ports for regional development

ENECHANGE ltd. has agreed to collaborate with Higashinaruse Tech Solutions Co. Ltd (hereinafter “NaruTech”). The installation of EV chargers will be expanded in the Tohoku region by harnessing NaruTech’s customer base, which is engaged in regional development in Akita Prefecture.

Background of the partnership

Against the backdrop of the Japanese government’s goal of increasing the percentage of electric vehicles in new passenger car sales to 100% by 2035, ENECHANGE has set a target of investing up to 30 billion yen to install 30,000 EVl charging ports in Japan by 2027. In particular, we are focusing on destination charging, where drivers can do a top-up charge at their destination, and are actively promoting the installation of 6kW normal chargers at commercial facilities, leisure facilities, lodging facilities, golf courses, and other facilities where people spend two to three hours or more. To promote installation, we are expanding our cooperation with partner companies that can promote this initiative.

NaruTech, established in Akita Prefecture as a third-sector company, aims to solve social issues through technology. Based in Higashinaruse in Akita Prefecture, where the birthrate is declining and the population is aging, the company hires inexperienced people, trains high-level IT personnel, and operates a business where it receives orders for remote work. Leveraging NaruTech’s customer base with strong local ties in Akita and other parts of the Tohoku region, we will expand the installation of EV charging ports, especially in the Tohoku region, and promote the realization of a decarbonized society in Japan.
