Background
ENECHANGE is on a mission to expand Japan’s EV charging infrastructure with the goal of installing 30,000 EV charging ports by 2027, to help further the shift to EVs. We focus on destination charging, where drivers top-up part of the electricity used to arrive at the destination. We have been installing EV charging ports primarily at lodging facilities and golf courses as well as leisure facilities and commercial facilities. In the office building segment an increasing number of companies are considering the installation of EV charging port as part of their ESG initiatives to improve employee and customer satisfaction and to shift to environmentally friendly buildings.
Kenedix Office, which recently installed ENECHANGE EV charge, is an investment corporation that invests in and manages office buildings mainly located in the Tokyo metropolitan area (Tokyo, Kanagawa, Saitama, and Chiba prefectures) within the Kenedix Group, which has one of Japan’s leading real estate investment track records. The company owns a total of 98 properties, including medium-sized office buildings used by small- and medium-sized businesses. Through renovation work that meets tenant needs and customer satisfaction surveys, the company meets the expectations of its tenants and enhances real estate value. Based on the Group’s overall sustainability policy, the company is committed to sustainable real estate management and reduction of environmental impact through energy conservation measures in its office buildings and proactive acquisition of environmental certifications and assessments by external organizations. As part of its efforts to realize a decarbonized society, the company is also working to install EV charging ports in the properties it owns.
One ENECHANGE EV Charge Charge 1 6kW charging ports has been installed at the KDX Musashi Kosugi Building, an office building in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan.
