ENECHANGE and USEN NETWORKS collaborate on EV charging port installations
ENECHANGE Ltd. has agreed to collaborate with USEN NETWORKS Co.,Ltd. in expanding the installation of ENECHANGE’s EV charging ports. Combining USEN NETWORKS’s strengths in the telecommunications business and its nationwide network of partner companies with ENECHANGE’s successful EV Charge service, the two companies will work to accelerate the development of infrastructure that makes EV use more convenient and comfortable.
Background
The Japanese government has set a goal of increasing the percentage of electric vehicles in new passenger car sales to 100% by 2035. ENECHANGE has set a goal of investing up to 30 billion yen to install 30,000 EV charging ports in Japan by 2027.
ENECHANGE is focusing on destination charging, where drivers can do a top-up charge at their destination, and is actively promoting the installation of 6kW standard chargers at commercial facilities, leisure facilities, lodging facilities, golf courses, and other facilities where one would spend two to three hours or longer. In addition, to promote installation across the country, we are expanding our collaboration with partner companies who are working with us to promote the installation of this system.
Details of Partner Collaboration with USEN NETWORKS
USEN NETWORKS strives to improve customer satisfaction, focusing on its business that provides various communication services centering on optical fiber lines and providers for corporate customers, and its sales agency that sells communication lines, electricity, gas, and other energy products.
In this collaboration, the two companies will harness the customer base built through the services provided by USEN NETWORKS to propose the installation of EV charging ports from ENECHANGE EV Charge to restaurants, commercial facilities, small and medium-sized offices, amongst others, and to build next-generation EV charging infrastructure and promote decarbonization. The increase in the number of installations will help increase the number of EV drivers. Moreover, we expect not only to improve the comfort of EV drivers, but also to increase the value of stores and offices where EV chargers are installed.
