ENECHANGE Ltd. is pleased to announce the installation of four 6kW ENECHANGE EV Charge charging ports in the parking lot for guests of NEMU RESORT, a resort complex in Shima City, Mie Prefecture.
Backgound
ENECHANGE is on a mission to expand Japan’s EV charging infrastructure with the goal of installing 30,000 EV charging ports by 2027, to help further the shift to EVs. We focus on destination charging, where drivers top-up part of the electricity used to arrive at the destination. We have been installing EV charging ports primarily at lodging facilities and golf courses as well as leisure facilities and commercial facilities. An increasing number of companies are considering the installation of EV charging ports as part of their ESG initiatives to improve employee and customer satisfaction and to shift to environmentally friendly buildings. The government subsidy program “Subsidy for Promoting the Introduction of Clean Energy Vehicles and Infrastructure” can be used for installation, and the introduction of these systems is accelerating, taking advantage of our Zero campaign.
NEMU RESORT is a resort complex located in the Ise-Shima National Park in Mie Prefecture, where you can enjoy hotels, hot springs, and activities in a stunning natural setting. Recently, they have received an increasing number of inquiries from guests whether there are EV charging facilities onsite. The hotel was attracted to ENECHANGE EV Charge because of our unique Zero Plan, which does not require the hotel to pay installation or monthly fees. The hotel received customers immediately after installation, once again confirming the demand for EV charging facilities, and it is expected that the installation of EV charging ports will help attract more customers in the future.
The number of EVs and PHVs per 10,000 people in Oita Prefecture is 31.5, ranking 9th in Japan*. We will continue to contribute to the spread of EV charging infrastructure in cooperation with companies working to create local communities and achieve the SDGs.
* Calculated by ENECHANGE based on the Next Generation Vehicle Promotion Center’s “Subsidy Grant Status by Prefecture,” the number of EV and PHV subsidies granted (FY 2009-2021), and population estimates for October 2021.
