ENECHANGE installs 6kW EV charging ports at golf courses in Kanagawa and Shizuoka prefectures

ENECHANGE Ltd. announces that it has installed a total of seven 6kW charging ports in the parking lots of the Sagami Lake Country Club golf course in Sagamihara, Kanagawa Prefecture and the Fuji Country Club golf course in Gotemba, Shizuoka Prefecture.

Background

Recently, golf courses have been actively attempting to help meet the SDGs through energy conservation, less use of plastic, and electrification of golf carts. The development of EV charging infrastructure for visitors with their own cars is attracting attention as a way to further decarbonize the industry. Sagami Lake Country Club in Sagamihara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, has been loved by many golfers for over 40 years because of its convenient location less than one hour from central Tokyo. In response to requests from visitors for the installation of EV charging ports and a recommendation from a neighboring golf club, four EV charging ports were installed. Fuji Country Club, which boasts a history of more than 60 years since its opening, is located near the Gotemba Interchange in Shizuoka Prefecture, and all courses offer views of Mt Fuji. The club considered installing EV charging ports at the suggestion of a member, and the fact that the charging ports were used multiple times within one month of installation shows that there is a strong need for them. Further use is expected in the coming high season.
