Replacing EV Charging Ports at Golf Courses in Hyogo and Gifu Prefectures, Upgrading to 6kW chargers to improve service at facilities
ENECHANGE Ltd. announces that it has replaced the EV charging ports installed at the Kita Rokko Country Club East Course, a golf course in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, and the Golf 5 Country Mizunami Course, a golf course in Mizunami City, Gifu Prefecture, with ENECHANGE’s 6kW charging ports.
Background
Around 2014-2015, there was an explosion of EV charging port installations across the country due to government and car manufacturer subsidies. Today, many of these charging ports need to be replaced with new ones as the subsidy program contracts expire and the charging ports are reaching the end of their life. One such example is the Kita Rokko Country Club East Course and Golf 5 Country Mizunami Course in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, where professional golf tournaments are held. The removal of the EV charging ports was considered, but as the utilization rate has been increasing year by year, the decision was made to replace them with new ones, and ENECHANGE’s EV charging ports were adopted. The facility also found that the dedicated management app, which provides easy-to-understand information on operating status, has made management easier than ever before.
Recently, golf courses have been actively addressing the SDGs through energy conservation, de-plasticization, and electrification of golf carts, and the development of EV charging environments for visitors with their own cars is attracting attention as a way to decarbonize the industry. Both golf courses hope to widely publicize their promotion of clean energy activities by upgrading to 6kW EV charging ports.
