ENECHANGE and Alfresa Corporation Collaborate on ENECHANGE EV Charge Installation
ENECHANGE Ltd. (hereafter: “the Company”) is pleased to announce a partnership agreement with Alfresa Corporation (hereafter: Alfresa), a comprehensive trading company in the medical field, to expand the installation of ENECHANGE EV Charge. Through this partnership, the Company aims to enhance services for hospital users and drive decarbonization efforts within the medical industry.
Background of the Partnership
The government has set a goal of achieving a 100% ratio of low-emission vehicles in new passenger car sales by 2035. To meet this target, they have indicated the need to increase the installation of EV charging ports, aiming for 300,000 charging ports by 2030 – double the previous goal of 150,000 charging ports. Destination charging for public use, in particular, is expected to reach 100,000 to 150,000 units, necessitating the installation of over 10,000 charging ports annually to meet this goal.
ENECHANGE has committed to investing up to 30 billion yen by 2027 to install 30,000 Level 2 charging ports nationwide. The Company focuses on destination charging, where electric vehicles can be charged while users spend two to three hours or more at commercial facilities, leisure facilities, accommodations, golf courses, and similar locations. As part of their efforts to promote installation, the Company is strengthening partnerships with companies that share its goals.
Alfresa primarily delivers medical products, including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, diagnostic reagents, and nutritional supplements, to medical institutions such as hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies, ensuring the safety and high quality of these products.
Through this collaboration, ENECHANGE and Alfresa will propose the introduction of ENECHANGE EV Charge in parking lots for patients to utilize during their wait times at medical facilities, as well as the development of basic charging infrastructure to promote the electrification of vehicles used by hospitals and healthcare professionals. By actively installing EV charging ports, they aim to drive the decarbonization of the medical industry.
