ENECHANGE and Meitetsu Kyosho expand EV charging ports at Meitetsu Kyosho parking lots in Aichi Prefecture
ENECHANGE Ltd. and Meitetsu Kyosho Co., Ltd. are pleased to announce the installation of six 6kW Level 2 charging ports at coin-operated parking lots operated by Meitetsu Kyosho in Aichi Prefecture. Moving forward, both companies will continue to expand the charging infrastructure together with a focus on Aichi Prefecture, a prefecture which is ranked second in the nation in EV adoption*1. This will further contribute to the proliferation of electric vehicles and in turn, to the realization of a decarbonized society.
* Calculated by ENECHANGE based on the Next Generation Vehicle Promotion Center’s “Subsidy Grant Status by Prefecture,” the number of EV and PHV subsidies granted (FY 2009-2022), and population estimates for October 2022.
Background
The government has set a goal of making the ratio of zero-emission vehicles in new car sales 100% by 2035. In order to reach this goal, the government has announced new guidelines to increase the target of EV charging port installations to 300,000 by 2030. Particularly, public destination charging is estimated to require between 100,000 and 150,000 ports, and for this goal to be achieved, the installation of over 10,000 charging ports per year is essential.
ENECHANGE plans to invest up to 30 billion yen by 2027 with the goal of installing 30,000 Level 2 charging ports in Japan. Among destination charging initiatives that ENECHANGE is advancing, coin-operated parking lots are key locations where we are increasing ENECHANGE EV Charge presence, with the intent to improve services on the facility side. There is growing demand from EV users for this amenity, as it allows them to replenish the electricity used during travel while their vehicle is parked.

About the Installation of Level 2 charging ports at Meitetsu Kyosho parking lots
Meitetsu Kyosho operates under the Meitetsu Kyosho Parking brand in the Tokai, Kanto-Koshinetsu, Kinki, Shikoku, and Kyushu regions, managing approximately 4,000 parking lots to date. In addition to its environmental initiatives such as the car-share service Karithiko, Meitetsu Kyosho also participates in the Aichi EV & PHV Proliferation Network established by Aichi Prefecture, and promotes the introduction of EV charging facilities in its parking lots. It has now been decided to introduce the ENECHANGE EV Charge which offers the convenience of a 6kW output and is compatible with both the number one user-rated EV charging app*2 and charging cards. As a result, charging ports will be installed at three Meitetsu Kyosho Parking locations in Aichi Prefecture, providing a comfortable charging environment 24 hours a day.
ENECHANGE and Meitetsu Kyosho will continue to collaborate, expanding the installation of EV charging ports in hourly rental parking lots to provide a comfortable charging environment for EV users and contribute to the realization of a decarbonized society by promoting the shift to EVs.
