ENECHANGE EV Charge Introduced at Six Premium Outlet Facilities
ENECHANGE Ltd. is pleased to announce the installation of twelve Level 2 charging ports with 6kW output at six Premium Outlet facilities. Additionally, further installations have been commissioned from April 2024 onwards, marking a step forward in enhancing customer service and contributing towards the realization of a decarbonized society through the adoption of the user-friendly ENECHANGE EV Charge.
Background
The government has set a goal to make low-emission vehicles account for 100% of new passenger car sales by 2035. To achieve this target, it aims to double the current number of EV charging ports from 150,000 to 300,000 by 2030. Specifically, between 100,000 to 150,000 of these ports are designated for public destination charging, necessitating the installation of over 10,000 charging ports annually.
ENECHANGE plans to invest up to 30 billion yen by 2027 to install 30,000 Level 2 charging ports across Japan, focusing on destination charging that allows users to top up their vehicle’s battery during stays of 2-3 hours or more at commercial facilities, leisure venues, golf courses, and accommodations. There is a growing demand for the 6kW Level 2 charging ports at commercial facilities, as they enable shoppers to charge their vehicles without time restrictions and ensure a certain amount of charge.
