PayPay now available as payment method on ENECHANGE EV Charge app
ENECHANGE Ltd. has introduced the digital payment service PayPay as a payment method for the ENECHANGE EV Charge app, aiming to accommodate diverse payment methods and enhance convenience for EV users. With this introduction, EV users can now choose PayPay as a payment method for their charging fees, allowing for the use and acquisition of PayPay points during the charging process. ENECHANGE continues to contribute to the development of EV charging infrastructure and the realization of a positive EV charging experience through the provision of user-friendly apps.
Background of the implementation
ENECHANGE has offered the EV charging service ENECHANGE EV Charge since 2021, and develops the essential EV charging infrastructure for the widespread adoption of electric vehicles. The ENECHANGE EV Charge app, which has gained the number one position in terms of user numbers among EV charging apps in Japan*1, allows users to perform a series of actions related to charging, including searching for charging ports, starting a charge, paying, and viewing charging data.
In a move to further enhance convenience for EV users, ENECHANGE has decided to introduce the digital payment service PayPay, which has approximately 62 million registered users*2, as a payment method within the app. Previously, the app had only accepted payment by credit cards, as well as prepaid charges using credit cards. While secure and easy to use, this limited the options for payment methods. With this new release, PayPay users can now enjoy more benefits when charging with the ENECHANGE EV Charge app.
