ENECHANGE develops “Mitsubishi Electric Utility Bill Simulation” web system
ENECHANGE Ltd. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Yohei Kiguchi, PhD) announces the development and launch of the “Mitsubishi Electric Utility Bill Simulation” web system provided by Mitsubishi Electric. This system is a customized development utilizing the features of ENECHANGE’s tariff simulation product, “ENECHANGE Cloud Marketing,” and can simulate utility costs for switching to Mitsubishi EcoCute and IH cooking heaters and the introduction of solar power systems.
Background
To achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 and a 46% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by FY30 (compared to FY13), the government is accelerating energy-saving measures in the building sector, which accounts for about 30% of energy consumption. The Energy Conservation Act has been revised to mandate compliance with energy-saving standards for currently exempt residences and small buildings by FY25. Additionally, it aims to ensure energy-saving performance at the ZEH/ZEB*1 standard level for new homes and buildings constructed after FY30. Furthermore, the government is providing subsidies for improving insulation and introducing high-efficiency water heaters to support the energy conservation of homes.

Overview of the “Mitsubishi Electric Utility Bill Simulation”
In April 2024, the “Mitsubishi Electric Utility Bill Simulation” started as a service to simulate utility bills for free when installing all-electric appliances with Mitsubishi EcoCute and IH cooking heaters. By selecting the area of residence, entering electricity and gas bills, indicating kerosene usage, and if solar panels are installed, the user can simulate your annual utility bills. Customers considering the installation of all-electric appliances can use this system to simulate utility bills prior to purchase.

Features of the”Mitsubishi Electric Utility Bill Simulation”
This system is a custom development that applies and adapts the functions of ENECHANGE, Japan’s largest electricity and gas comparison site, and the tariff simulation product “ENECHANGE Cloud Marketing” which uses the tariff simulation calculations adopted by major power companies. By entering the current electricity and gas plan, rates or usage, kerosene costs & usage, and the presence or absence of solar panel installation and an estimate of system capacity, it is possible to simulate energy costs for installing Mitsubishi EcoCute and an IH cooking heater, as well as solar panels. The various electricity rate unit prices are calculated using the latest tariff data managed by ENECHANGE, and the calculation results include fuel cost adjustments, raw material cost adjustments, and renewable energy power generation levy.*2
Customer input data
・Residential information (selection of area)
・Electricity usage (electricity tariff, contracted current/capacity/power), electricity bill or usage
・Gas usage (type of gas under contract), gas bill or usage volume
・Paraffin usage, kerosene cost or quantity used
・Solar panel estimated system capacity (if installed)
*2. Actual utility bills may vary depending on the customer’s lifestyle, type of devices, and usage conditions, hence the calculation results do not guarantee the exact energy bills.
Comments from Ryoichi Nojima, Executive Officer, ENECHANGE Ltd.
With the cooperation of Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, we have created a rate simulation service for the “Mitsubishi Electric Utility Bill Simulation”. Mitsubishi Electric is focusing on promoting energy-saving equipment in homes to achieve carbon neutrality. As a decarbonization tech company promoting the 4Ds of energy, we are pleased to be able to help users visualize their household energy costs and propose effective ways to reduce energy through this simulation product. We will continue to develop products and provide services that contribute to decarbonization by maximizing the usage of the knowledge, know-how and data gained from the operation of our own services.
■About ENECHANGE Cloud Marketing
This product utilizes the tariff simulation calculations used by Japan’s largest electricity and gas comparison website ENECHANGE and major power companies. It provides the calculations and rate plan information API necessary for building cost simulations. As electricity rates become increasingly complex, the product also supports unique fuel adjustment costs, etc., so that energy companies can provide their own tariffs to consumers in an easy-to-understand manner.
