About the establishment of a joint venture by CHUBU Electric Power Miraiz and ENECHANGE

CHUBU Electric Power Miraiz Co., Inc. (Representative Director: Hironori Kamiya, hereafter “CHUBU Electric Power Miraiz”) and ENECHANGE Ltd. (CEO: Tomoya Maruoka, hereafter “ENECHANGE”) have signed an agreement today to establish a joint venture company to operate the EV charging business.

ENECHANGE has decided to establish a new company today and plans to transfer its EV Charging Service, “ENECHANGE EV Charge,” to the new company through an absorption-type split. Additionally, CHUBU Electric Power Miraiz is scheduled to acquire 51% of the new company’s shares outstanding by Mar. 10, 2025, and both companies plan to execute a capital increase according to their shareholding ratio. The new company is expected to commence operations on the same day.

The Japanese government has set a target of making the ratio of EVs in new passenger car sales 100% by 2035. It aims to increase the number of charging ports, including public fast charging ports, to 300,000 by 2030, aiming for convenience equivalent to gasoline cars. 

Both companies will accelerate and maximize their contributions to the realization of a decarbonized society by supporting the promotion of vehicle electrification through the establishment of sustainable and stable EV charging ports.
