ENECHANGE EV Charge app launches new update for Nearby Spot Notification
ENECHANGE Ltd. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Tomoya Maruoka) is pleased to announce a new update to the ENECHANGE EV Charge app containing the release of the trial feature for Nearby Spot Notification. This feature notifies users of nearby ENECHANGE EV Charge locations based on the information from the ENECHANGE EV Charge app users. As this is a trial version, the goal is to reflect user feedback and make further improvements.
New features that make use of geofencing for convenience
Nearby Spot Notification is a feature that utilizes location information to inform the user of nearby charging spots, supplementing the conventional method of users searching for charging locations. This feature employs a technology known as ‘geofencing.’ Geofencing is a system where a specific geographical area is virtually designated, and any entry, exit, or movement within the area triggers an action. It functions through GPS, Wi-Fi, or Mobile network to gather information about spots near the user’s current location and notify the user of the nearest ENECHANGE EV Charge, also alerting them as they approach an ENECHANGE EV Charge spot.
How to set up
After logging into the ENECHANGE EV Charge app, tap [Menu], [Notifications], and then [Nearby Spot Notification (Trial Version)]. Navigate to ‘Settings’ on your smartphone and set the location information permission for ‘ENECHANGE EV Charge’ to ‘Always’ to complete the setup.
Notification
The app targets ENECHANGE EV Charge spots within a 10 kilometer radius of your current location*1, and you will receive a push notification when you approach a charging spot within a 300 meter radius.
*1. Your current location is defined as the location where you initially set the Nearby Spot Notification or where you started the app with the setting turned ‘ON’.
