Tohoku Alfresa Shifts Company Cars to EVs Implement the Business Plan of “ENECHANGE EV Charge”

ENECHANGE Ltd. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Tomoya Maruoka) announces that Tohoku Alfresa Corporation (Head Office: Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, President: Shinya Uchida, hereafter “Tohoku Alfresa”), which handles pharmaceutical distribution in the Tohoku region, has adopted the “Business Plan” of ENECHANGE EV Charge at its business locations. Four standard charging ports were installed and operations started at Tohoku Alfresa’s Sendai headquarters and the Iwaki branch.

Background of the Installation

The Alfresa Group’s “22-24 Medium-term Management Plan: Leap to the Future – Evolving Healthcare Consortium” sets forth a group management policy of “contributing to a sustainable society through ‘environmental conservation efforts’.” As part of their environmentally conscious business activities, they are working on expanding the use of clean energy, reducing gasoline consumption, and lowering electricity usage to reduce CO2 emissions.

Tohoku Alfresa is promoting the electrification of its company vehicles by 2030. Existing EV charging ports did not support charging volume visualization and fuel consumption data, which hindered establishing a management system for further EV adoption. With this introduction, the subsidy application expertise of ENECHANGE allowed us to utilize subsidies for the first time under the “Level 2 charging ports, Business locations and warehouses”. This, together with visualization technology for charging performance data, resolved operational management issues, enabling us to establish environmentally friendly EV charging ports at appropriate costs.

About the “Business Plan” for corporate customers

The business plan addresses challenges of the EV shift by providing support for the installation of EV charging ports. In the same way as our previous services, we offer total support from installation to operation of EV charging ports, and, additionally, provide a charging data management service for users of the “Business Plan”.

In the Business Plan, a unique ENECHANGE charging key linked to each vehicle is issued, allowing users to view charging-related data such as the number of charges and charging volume for each vehicle. This enables unified management of company EV charging data on a dashboard, akin to the fuel history of gasoline vehicles. Available via subscription, it facilitates centralized management of charging data like the number of charges and charging volume for each vehicle. If the number of vehicles, charging ports, or charging station locations increase, we will assist in not only managing company EV operations but also in energy management for charging ports and the entire organization.

ENECHANGE EV Charge
