Kana Bogaki, Co-Founder and Director of Makuake, Inc. becomes the first female outside director, and founding member who has led the ENECHANGE platform business joins the Board of Directors

ENECHANGE Ltd. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director & CEO: Yohei Kiguchi; Representative Director & COO: Ippei Arita; hereafter:“the Company”) announces that Tatsuya Sogano, who has participated in the company since its founding as a director, and Kana Bogaki, co-founder/director of Makuake, Inc. were appointed as outside directors at the 7th General Shareholders Meeting held on March 30, 2022, and assumed office on the same date.

Graduated from the Faculty of Commerce and Management at Hitotsubashi University in 2013. He was a member of a venture company for two years as a student, working on starting up and running new web services. After graduating, he joined P&G, where he was in the department that handled market and consumer surveys. In June 2015, he joined ENECHANGE, and mainly worked on running services for households. In July 2019, he was appointed an executive officer of ENECHANGE, and is in overall charge of the Enechange Division, which promotes services aimed at households such as the Enechange electricity and gas charges comparison site.

After graduating from Doshisha University, Kana Bogaki started her career joining CyberAgent, Inc. in 2006 where she helped establish subsidiaries Cyber Buzz, Inc. and two gaming companies. In 2013, she co-founded Makuake, Inc. and joined as Board Director.She is in charge of the Curator Department, overseer of PR, and is often traveling and giving lectures across Japan. In parallel to her leadership roles, she also manages cooperation with distribution channels, local governments and financial institutions. She also has experience as a judge for the design and creativity awards TBDA and ACC etc.

We are pleased to announce that we have invited Ms. Kana Bogaki as our first female director. We have also raised funds to strengthen advertising in its platform business, and is aggressively developing online advertising, including video advertisements on SNS media, etc., which it had not done before. We believe it is very important to strengthen our marketing activities from the perspective of women, given that the ratio of male and female users of our electricity and gas comparison site for households, “Enechange,” is almost equal. We are confident that Ms. Bogaki’s knowledge and experience in marketing will lead to strong growth in our platform business. We have also appointed Tatsuya Sogano, who has participated in the platform business since its inception and has led the platform business’s services for households and corporate clients, to the Board of Directors. We believe that Mr. Sogano is well suited to make important management decisions and supervise the execution of business operations. With three board of directors and five outside directors, we will strive to further strengthen management and governance.
