ENECHANGE installs four 6kW Level 2 charging ports at Zoorasia and Yokohama Municipal Kanazawa Zoo

Through a cooperation agreement, ENECHANGE has introduced ENECHANGE EV Charge into public facilities in Yokohama City

ENECHANGE Ltd. is pleased to announce the installation of four Level 2 charging ports at the Yokohama Municipal Zoorasia (hereafter, Zoorasia) and Yokohama Municipal Kanazawa Natural Park (hereafter, Kanazawa Zoo). This is the first achievement under the agreement signed with the City of Yokohama in 2023, and we will continue to promote the development of charging infrastructure within the city, working towards the realization of a zero-carbon city.

Background

As part of efforts to combat global warming, the number of local public organizations declaring their intention to become a “zero-carbon city” with the goal of achieving net zero CO2 emissions by the year 2050 continues to increase. As of the end of December 2023, there are 1,013 municipalities (including 46 prefectures, 570 cities, 22 special wards, 327 towns, and 48 villages) that have made this commitment. The adoption of EVs is a critical component of decarbonization, and the development of charging infrastructure is essential. ENECHANGE is working with various local governments to install Level 2 charging ports in public facilities. We are supporting efforts towards becoming “zero-carbon cities” from the perspective of charging infrastructure environment preparation, with the aim of encouraging the shift to EVs among citizens and tourists.

Partnership between ENECHANGE and the City of Yokohama

Through “Zero Carbon Yokohama”, Yokohama City in Kanagawa Prefecture is targeting decarbonization by the year 2050 with a strong emphasis on the proliferation of next-generation vehicles and the construction of their infrastructure. In June 2023, ENECHANGE entered into a partnership agreement aimed at expanding Level 2 charging facilities in the public facilities of Yokohama City.

ENECHANGE supports the establishment of EV charging ports in public facilities, and also provides assistance right from the planning stages of developing the charging infrastructure environment.

Overview of Charging Port Installation

Using government subsidies, two 6kW Level 2 charging ports have been installed in the customer parking lots of both Kanazawa Zoo and Zoorasia and are now operational. EV users will now be able to charge their vehicles while enjoying their time at the zoo, improving the convenience for visitors.
