EV and PHV account for a record-high percentage of new vehicle sales in Q3 2022 , Growth driven by launch of electric kei car

Changes in EV and PHV sales

In our EV Charging Service, we consider the sales ratio of EV and Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles (PHV) that use charging facilities as a key indicator of the overall adoption of electric vehicles, as the adoption of EVs is linked with the need for expansion of EV charging infrastructure.
According to our estimates, the percentage of new EV and PHV sales in Q3 of 2022 (July-September) reached a record high of 3.8% of total sales. In particular, the launch of electric kei car is driving growth, and the sales ratio is expected to continue to increase in the future.
