Background

The decision document from the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), held in Dubai, UAE, in 2023, established a target to triple global renewable energy generation capacity by 2030. Additionally, the 24/7 Carbon Free Energy Compact, an international initiative led by the UN since 2021 to decarbonize electricity, advocates for a 100% carbon-free electricity supply that aligns with hourly electricity consumption*1. 

As efforts to achieve carbon neutrality extend through the entire supply chain, including Scope 3 emissions, 88 Japanese companies are members of the RE100 as of June 2024*2. This reflects not only an increasing demand for renewable energy and environmentally valuable electricity supplies but also shows that forward-thinking companies are committed to using renewable energy and electricity judiciously, based on specific needs and contexts.

The eValue Platform alleviates the operational burdens associated with managing the complex tasks of renewable energy supply, including the provision of 24/7 carbon-free energy, by centralizing control, thereby promoting the judicious use of power based on specific needs and contexts.

Overview of the eValue Platform

The eValue Platform offers a SaaS solution for centralized management of renewable origin certificates and renewable energy for energy and electricity companies, facilitating hourly tracking.Designed to accommodate the operational scale of leading energy and electricity providers, the platform boasts high processing capabilities. It is versatile enough to support various customer-specific*3 plans, including those tailored to different regions. Having been successfully implemented by several major energy companies, plans are underway to broaden its accessibility and enhance its functionalities for additional operators in the future.

Main features of the eValue Platform

1.Hourly environmental value management

This system utilizes technology that facilitates the precise hourly tracking and procurement of renewable origin certificates, alongside the bulk management of these values on a monthly basis. It enables the concurrent, non-overlapping allocation of multiple types of certificates while centrally coordinating various renewable energy sources like solar and wind power. The system provides an array of data including generation and consumption metrics at 30-minute intervals.

2.Inventory management of diverse renewable origin certificates

Inventory management encompasses a range of renewable origin certificates, including  green energy sources like hydro, wind, and solar power.

3.Matching of electrical and renewable origin certificates with a high degree of freedom

The eValue Platform’s unique matching logic automatically matches electricity and certificate values and provides them in equal quantities at the same time.
