ENECHANGE installs 6kW EV Charge model at hotel adjacent to Oita Amusement Park and Golf Course
ENECHANGE Ltd. is pleased to announce the installation of four 6kW ENECHANGE EV Charge charging ports in the parking lot of Jojima Kogen Hotel in Beppu City, Oita Prefecture.
Backgound
ENECHANGE is on a mission to expand Japan’s EV charging infrastructure with the goal of installing 30,000 EV charging ports by 2027, to help further the shift to EVs. We focus on destination charging, where drivers top-up part of the electricity used to arrive at the destination. We have been installing EV charging ports primarily at lodging facilities and golf courses as well as leisure facilities and commercial facilities. An increasing number of companies, particularly in the office building industry, are considering the installation of EV charging ports as part of their ESG initiatives to improve employee and customer satisfaction and to shift to environmentally friendly buildings. The government subsidy program “Subsidy for Promoting the Introduction of Clean Energy Vehicles and Infrastructure” can be used for installation, and the introduction of these systems is accelerating, taking advantage of our Zero campaign.
The Jojima Kogen Hotel is located on the Jojima Plateau in Beppu City, Oita Prefecture, within the Aso Kujyu National Park. The EV chargers are located in the hotel parking lot, but can also be used by visitors to the adjacent Jojima Kogen Park amusement park and Jojima Kogen Golf Club golf course . In the future, it is expected to attract not only hotel guests, but also visitors to the amusement park who come to charge their batteries and use the waiting time to enter the park.
The number of EVs and PHVs per 10,000 people in Oita Prefecture is 32.7, ranking 7th in Japan*. We will continue to contribute to the spread of EV charging infrastructure in cooperation with companies working to create local communities and achieve the SDGs.
*Calculated by ENECHANGE based on the Next Generation Vehicle Promotion Center’s “Subsidy Grant Status by Prefecture,” the number of EV and PHV subsidies granted (FY 2009-2021), and population estimates for October 2021.
