ENECHANGE ltd. is pleased to announce that it will upgrade the EV chargers in the parking lots for guests of 214 Route Inn Hotels nationwide, operated by Route Inn Japan K.K., to 6kW regular charger.
Background of Installation
With the government’s goal of increasing the percentage of electric vehicles in new passenger car sales to 100% by 2035, ENECHANGE has set a target of investing up to 30 billion yen to install 30,000 EV chargers in Japan by 2027. In particular, the company is focusing on destination charging, which allows users to charge their EVs by adding a portion of the electricity they use for transportation, and is actively promoting the installation of 6kW chargers at lodging facilities, commercial facilities, leisure facilities, golf courses, and other locations where people stay for 2-3 hours or longer. Charging facilities at lodging facilities are especially important for EV drivers in their travel plans, and demand is growing for 6㎾ ordinary chargers, as they can be almost fully charged in one night.
Route-Inn Japan Co., Ltd. operates more than 330 hotels under four brands, including Hotel Route-Inn, and is actively involved in the promotion of the SDGs as well as the Eco Promotion Project, which aims to protect natural resources and preserve the global environment through the effective use of energy and resources. Route-Inn Hotels has been actively installing EV chargers in stores with parking lots since around 2014, when the Japanese government began full-fledged EV charging infrastructure development. While they have supported comfortable travel for EV drivers for many years, some chargers have reached the end of their useful life. Therefore, ENECHANGE has decided to replace EV chargers at 214 Route Inn Hotels stores nationwide. The new “EV Charge ENECHANGE” chargers have a 6㎾ output, which is twice as fast as the previous 3kW output, and are equipped with the e-Mobility Power Network’s charging card authentication system*. provide EV drivers who have been patronising Route-Inn Hotels with a higher level of satisfaction.
