Starting donations from EV charging revenue to support earthquake victims in eastern Taiwan

ENECHANGE Ltd. would like to extend our deepest condolences to those who lost their lives in the earthquake off the east coast of Taiwan on April 3, 2024, and our heartfelt sympathies to everyone in the affected areas and their families. Our company has decided to donate a portion of the charging revenue from our EV Charging business from April 9, 2024, to May 31, 2024, to the Japanese Red Cross Society to help with the earliest possible recovery and reconstruction of the affected areas.

Background

ENECHANGE was founded in 2015 following CEO Yohei Kiguchi’s commitment to addressing Japan’s energy issues, motivated by the extensive, heartwarming support from Taiwan during the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011. This support is still deeply etched in the memories of many. The company’s EV charging service business has been offering a 6kW Level 2 charging service that can be accessed via an app or a charging card since 2022, adopting EV charging ports produced by Zerova Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Taoyuan City, Taiwan).

This partnership has not only strengthened the cooperative relationship with Zerova but also contributed to the realization of a carbon-neutral society in Japan. The recent earthquake off the eastern coast of Taiwan on April 3, 2024, presents a significant challenge for Taiwan, where Zerova, a key partner of ENECHANGE, is based. In response, we are committed to supporting the rebuilding of lives and the reconstruction of the affected areas.

Donations from EV Charging Revenue

As part of our support for the areas affected by the earthquake off the eastern coast of Taiwan, a portion of the revenues derived from charging via ENECHANGE EV Charge between April 9, 2024 (Tuesday) and May 31, 2024 (Friday), will be donated to the “2024 Taiwan Eastern Offshore Earthquake Relief Fund” from the Japanese Red Cross Society. We hope that this initiative will contribute to the recovery and reconstruction efforts in the affected regions.
