ENECHANGE Promotes EV Adoption in Offices and Warehouses with new “Business Plan,” Supporting Corporate Challenges
ENECHANGE Ltd. (hereafter: “the Company”) is pleased to announce the release of its new charging plan, the Business Plan, designed to accelerate the shift to electric vehicles (EVs) in business settings. ENECHANGE addresses three key challenges encountered when introducing EVs in locations such as offices and warehouses: challenges in charging infrastructure challenges, vehicle management, and individualized needs.
Background
The government has set ambitious goals, aiming to achieve a 100% electric vehicle (EV) ratio in new passenger car sales by 2035, and increasing the electric vehicle ratio in new sales of small commercial vehicles to 20-30% by 2030. Additionally, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government is accelerating efforts to fully electrify all vehicles in the city by 2030, targeting 100% zero-emission new passenger car sales. Recently, companies that perceive carbon neutrality and reducing vehicle costs as business challenges have seen an increase in opportunities to introduce EVs for commercial vehicle use. While the shift to EVs in offices, warehouses, and other settings is expected to contribute to decarbonization, there are numerous challenges, including increased vehicle purchase costs, changes in operations, and the installation of charging ports, which have led to hesitation in implementation.
Overview of the New Business Plan: ENECHANGE EV Charge for Business Locations
With the introduction of the new Business Plan, the Company addresses these EV adoption challenges by providing comprehensive support for the installation of ENECHANGE EV Charge ports. In addition to support across the entire timeline from infrastructure installation to operation, the Business Plan offers a new data management service for charging.
With the Business Plan, a charging key issued by the Company is assigned to each vehicle, allowing users to view charging-related data, such as charging frequency and volume for each vehicle. This enables centralized management of charging data for company-owned EVs all within the management interface, similar to tracking refueling history for gasoline vehicles. Monthly operation and management fees start at 5,500 JPY per base.
Key Points of the Business Plan
- Resolving Charging Infrastructure Challenges with Comprehensive Support from Installation to Operation
ENECHANGE EV Charge offers comprehensive support, including installation planning based on the existing electrical system capacity, applying for subsidies, taking responsibility as the main contractor for construction, providing charging management systems, and offering year-round customer support for equipment faults or errors. With a proven track record as the provider with the highest number of Level 2 charging ports available through an app-based service as of December 2023 (according to GoGoEV) and the most downloaded EV charging app on iOS and Android among EV charging service providers as of November 2023 (data.ai survey), ENECHANGE EV Charge minimizes the burden on the client’s facility management personnel and ensures peace of mind. - Solving Vehicle Management Challenges with the Use of Charging Keys
Users can start charging by simply tapping charging keys issued by ENECHANGE on the EV charging ports, eliminating the need for dedicated apps or installations. By issuing and managing charging keys for each vehicle, users can centrally manage charging usage history data for individual vehicles. Even across multiple site locations, aggregation of charging data for numerous EVs is possible.
- Addressing Individual Needs Challenges with Multifaceted Support through Energy Management
As the only EV charging service provider that can obtain electricity data through a certified association*1, ENECHANGE EV Charge can propose the most suitable energy tariff in cases where there is concern about rising costs due to increased electricity usage or changes in contracted power. Furthermore, ENECHANGE EV Charge can assist in transitioning to electricity from solar and renewable sources from a “Well-to-Wheel” perspective*2. ENECHANGE EV Charge caters to the needs of various companies, such as utilizing charging ports for visitors or as an employee benefit during times when company-owned vehicles are not using the charging ports. With expertise in energy management, ENECHANGE EV Charge provides comprehensive support for business EV use.
*1 Certified association: The Japan Electric Power Information Center (JEPIC)
