ENECHANGE Ltd. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Tomoya Maruoka) is pleased to announce that it has signed an agreement for the “Installation of Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment at Prefectural Facilities” project in Tokushima Prefecture, and it has been decided to install a total of 42 Level 2 EV charging ports at nine Tokushima Prefecture-owned facilities. Our initiative to install EV charging ports in Tokushima Prefecture will persist, with the target of developing 2,000 EV charging ports by 2030. In addition, as part of this agreement, the EV charging equipment installed at Tokushima Prefecture’s public facilities will be accessible at no cost in the event of a disaster.

Background of the Agreement

In March 2024, Tokushima Prefecture will release the “Guidelines for Promoting Development of EV Charging Infrastructure in Tokushima Prefecture”, indicating an increase in EV charging ports to approximately 2,000, about ten times the current number, to support the spread of EVs.

The target for the installation of Level 2 charging ports at destinations is set at 1,800 ports, with priority given to implementation in public facilities, including prefectural facilities. Through this collaboration, we will jointly promote the shift to EVs in Tokushima Prefecture.

Details of the Agreement

1. Installation of Charging Facilities at Public Facilities
   ENECHANGE EV Charge will be gradually introduced to Tokushima Prefecture’s public facilities.
2. Promotion of PR
   ENECHANGE will intensify PR efforts related to the installation of charging facilities through its own media channels.
3. Provision of EV Normal Charging Infrastructure During Disasters
   The “Sudachi-kun EV Charger” certification system implemented by Tokushima Prefecture will be registered, and it will be freely accessible during disasters.

Introduction of ENECHANGE EV Charge at Public Facilities

ENECHANGE will gradually install its ENECHANGE EV Charge, the 6kW Level 2 charging port, at tourist and cultural facilities in Tokushima Prefecture. Additionally, the installed chargers will be registered as “Sudachi-kun EV Charger” and will be made available for free Level 2 charging during disasters.
