LPIO’s Business Withdrawal Affects 140,000 Customers, Established “LPIO Consultation Desk” for LPIO Customers.

ENECHANGE Ltd. We are pleased to announce the opening of the “LPIO Consultation Desk” as a contact point. The number of subscribing households that will need to change their electric power company contracts due to the withdrawal of LPIO is expected to reach approximately 140,000*. As a relief measure, a campaign code will be issued to support customers switching from LPIO to a new power company, and all customers who switch power companies will receive an Amazon gift certificate worth 2,000 yen.
*Calculated based on actual electricity demand (November 2021 low-voltage) of 37,115,000 kWh, assuming standard household monthly usage of 260 kWh.

Support page for switching from LPIO

On Friday, March 25, “Notice of Service Discontinuation” was posted on the Lpio website. Lpio Co., Ltd., which sells LPIO, is a 50-year old LP company headquartered in Chiba Prefecture. While new power companies were forced to withdraw or downsize their business, LPIO had grown to supply approximately 140,000 customers with its discount electricity rate plans.

LPIO customers will cease to be supplied at the end of April 2022, and the switchover procedure must be completed by the end of April. Enechange, an electricity and gas comparison website, has set up a team to provide switching support services for current LPIO customers, and will launch a special support website and set up a consultation service that offers free consultation. We will support the switchover so that customers can switch and continue to use electricity with peace of mind.
