ENECHANGE and Daito Trust Construction Co., Ltd. Collaborate to Promote the Installation of EV Charging Ports in New Condominiums
ENECHANGE Ltd. (hereafter: the Company) and Daito Trust Construction Co., Ltd. (hereafter: Daito Trust Construction) have agreed to collaborate on promoting the installation of ENECHANGE’s EV charging ports in new condominiums.
Background of the partnership
The government has set a target to achieve a 100% ratio of electric vehicles (EVs) in new passenger car sales by 2035. To achieve this goal, there is a plan to increase the installation target for charging ports to 300,000 by 2030. For condominiums in particular, the target is to install 100,000 to 200,000 charging ports. This initiative seeks to enhance the charging infrastructure to enable over 10% of EV users residing in condominiums to charge their vehicles within their premises.
Details of the partnership
Through this collaboration, the Company and Daito Trust Construction will proceed to improve the EV charging environment in the new condominiums constructed by Daito Trust Construction.
- When condominium owners wish to install EV charging ports, Daito Trust Construction will introduce ENECHANGE EV Charge
- Both companies will closely collaborate, anticipating the introduction of charging facilities from the design stage, to achieve a smooth installation process simultaneously with condominium construction
- Tenants or condo owners can use the ENECHANGE EV Charge, the service with the highest number* of installed EV charging ports in Japan, both at home and on the go through a single app
*Number of installed EV charging ports by a secure app-based service provider (as of October 2023, according to GoGoEV).
Through this partnership, the Company and Daito Trust Construction will contribute to the improvement of the asset value of new condominiums and the realization of a decarbonized society. Specifically, the Company has been advancing the establishment of EV charging infrastructure, focusing on Level 2 charging at condominiums since November 2022. We will continue to pursue the improvement of convenience for EV users and promote the shift to EV.
